Who can join the ETU?

​

You can join the ETU if you work in the following trades or industries:

  • Electrical, Electronics, Security or Data/Communications

  • Lifts

  • Radio and TV

  • Refrigeration and Air Conditioning

  • Automotive

  • Manufacturing

  • Foundry

  • Mechanical

  • Aircraft

  • Service Technicians

  • Shipbuilding - maintaining and breaking

  • Railway - infrastructure and rolling stock

 

Tradespeople, Apprentices and Non Tradespeople are all eligible.

 

Plumbing and Pipe Trades are covered by the PPTEU. Join the PPTEU here.

How much does it cost to join the Electrical Trades Union?

​

Memberships run from the 1st July through to 30th June every year.

You can choose to pay for your membership via invoice (credit card payment upfront) or via direct debit deductions.

Annual Membership Fees

Union dues are 100% tax deductible

​

Usually, your annual membership fee would be calculated pro-rata based on the date you join (from your join date to 30/06/24). However, as we are on the cusp of a new financial year, your annual membership fee will include membership fees for 2024/2025. The fees below apply if you are paying your member fees in full for the coming financial year.

You also have the option to pay your dues fortnightly via direct debit.

 

If you are paying your Union fees in full to claim them within this tax year, you can select payment of a full year or half year to include on top of your 2024/2025 fee.

DISCOUNTED RATES IF PAYING FOR FULL 2024/2025 MEMBERSHIP

Our Secretary has approved the following discounted rates available for

members who pay their membership upfront for 2024/2025

prior to 30th June 2024. Normal rates will revert on 1st July 2024.

 

$776.40 - Tradespersons

$713.00 - Non-Tradesperson or Adult Apprentice

$320.90 - Junior Apprentice (under 21 years old)

$854.00 - Tradespersons

$784.30 - Non-Tradesperson or Adult Apprentice

$353.00 - Junior Apprentice (under 21 years old)

When you first join you will also be charged a one-off joining fee -

​

$11.00 - Tradespersons

$2.20 - Non-Tradesperson or Adult Apprentice

$NIL - Junior Apprentice (under 21 years old)

You also have the option to pay your Union membership fees via direct debit. Deductions are taken fortnightly on Fridays.
